Wilma Brunk

Wilma Jean Jeannie Brunk passed away December 30, 2012. She was born April 9th, 1926 to Wayne and Alice Bottorff Teaford, DeKalb County, Missouri. Jeannie spent the first half of her life near Union Star, Missouri. She married Paul Edward Brunk on August 22, 1942 in Salina, Kansas. Jeannie spent the last half of her life in Denver, Colorado, retiring from Continental Airlines after 20 plus years. She was a Lead Cabin Service Agent and served as union steward for the International Association of Machinists. She volunteered many hours for the Meals on Wheels Program. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two sisters, Betty Ray Longfellow, and Bonnie Eddie Bashor; and one son-in-law, Ralph Middleton. She is survived by her children, Gary Linnea Brunk, Roanoke, VA; Dennis Brunk, Terry Darlene Brunk, and Karolyn Middleton, all of Cheyenne, WY; one brother, Wally Dorothy Teaford; five grandchildren, Samantha Morris DeAnda, Jeannie Adams, Merrilee John Ayers, Melissa Stacy Alton-Brunk, and Paul Emily Brunk; and six great-grandchildren, Sahara and Tori Adams, Vance Contrestano, Gavin DeAnda, and Kendri and Rylin Ayers. Jeannie was a loving grandmother/great grandmother, devoting many hours to crocheting and cross-stitching blankets and afghans for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved playing bingo, going to Blackhawk, doing word puzzles, loving her pet companions Missy and Truman; and she made a pot of chicken and dumplings that no one has ever been quite able to make "as good as grandma's". Her memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, January 17th, 2012 at the Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 3020 Federal Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. Interment will be held in Savannah, Missouri at a later date. Memorials can be sent to The Denver Hospice, 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700, Denver, Colorado 80246-1328.
