William Naymond Nail

June 30, 1953 — November 23, 2025

Albuquerque

William “Bill” Naymond Nail, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by his family on November 23rd, 2025.

Bill was born on June 30, 1953, to Charles Rainey and Billie Louise Nail. He spent his life working with his hands and his heart—first as a lifelong plumber working side-by-side with his father and siblings and later building his own path in the heating and cooling industry. He retired from UNM in 2019.

Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy Nail; his son Brent Nail, wife Jacque, and their daughters Alayna, Kenzy, and Kayce; his daughter Penny Bakke, and her children Grayson and Adianna. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Kuehl; his brother Michael and wife Janice Nail; brother Tony and wife Ruth Nail; his sister-in-law Cindy Brigham and her daughter Jaymie; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Bill’s happiest days were spent outdoors. He looked forward to his “Nail boys” hunting trips, camping with his family, fishing, taking long back-road drives with Judy, and working around his homes and yards in which he took such pride. Those simple, steady routines were where he found peace and purpose. He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his stories, his laughter, and the quiet strength he brought into their lives.

A memorial service will be held at X Factor Church on January 24, 2026 at 11 am. 3023 Montclaire Dr NE, Albuquerque NM 87110.
