Virginia Swift

September 5, 1958 — January 14, 2021

Denver, CO

Virginia Rose Swift, age 62, died at her home in Denver, Colorado on January 14, 2021.  The cause of death was Multiple System Atrophy, a debilitating disease she faced with strength and grace, ultimately maintaining her signature compassion for others and spunky personality.

Born September 5, 1958 in Kansas City, she lived most of her life in Kansas and moved to Colorado as her disease progressed, where she was cared for by her daughters and husband. She will be remembered as someone who always put others first; a listening ear who genuinely cared, whether you were a close relative or someone she might only speak to one time. She especially came into her own in her role as Mimi to her nine grandchildren. Ginny was a woman of deep faith in Jesus Christ for whom the Apostle Paul’s words “to live is Christ, to die is gain” were surely true.

Those who look forward to being reunited with her for eternity include (but are certainly not limited to) her husband of 42 years, Thomas Swift; her siblings Marilynn, Barbara, Michael, Joseph, Thomas, Scott, and John; her children and children-in-law Abigail and Tim Kleier, Hannah and Onsi Fakhouri, Ruth Swift, and Nate and Kaia Swift; and her nine grandchildren: Caleb, Eden, Charity, Mercy, Joseph, Aileen, Cosette, Donovan, and Nina.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charles and Aileen Diebold.

Her ashes will be interred at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver, Colorado at a later date
