Thomas Leroy Medina

May 11, 1941 — July 7, 2025

Denver, Colorado

Thomas Leroy Medina was born on May 11th, 1941, in the small town of Raton, New Mexico, to Clora and Alfonso Medina.  One of six children, he grew up surrounded by the love and bonds of a large family.  He shared his life with his siblings - Bob, Norma, Wes, Mel, and Barbara - each of whom held a special place in his heart.  His brother Wes and his sister Barbara, who reside in California, carry on his memory today.

Thomas proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.  His time in uniform reflected his quiet strength, sense of duty, and unwavering dedication - qualities he carried with him throughout his life.

Beyond his service, Thomas was a man of reflection and creativity.  He had a deep appreciation for art and music, a passion he shared with and passed down to his daughters.  Whether through paint, pencil, or perspective, he viewed the world with an artist's eye and a tender soul.

He was the father of two daughters, Lee Ann Medina and Laura McLaine, and is the proud grandfather of Jonathan McLaine, who brought him great joy and pride.

Thomas's life was a testament to devotion, and a quiet kind of grace.  He lived with sincerity and gave love freely - whether to family, friends, or in the still moments of artistic expression.

As we remember Thomas, we take comfort in the words of Psalm 23, which he held dear:

                   He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;

thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil;

my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Thomas Leroy Medina's legacy will live on in the lives he touched.  He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He is buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Colorado per his military status.  There will not be a service at this time.
