Obituary

Teresa Claire (Perry) Galvin, born August 7, 1948, in Barnstable, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 13, 2026, in Colorado. She was 77 years old.

Teresa was the first daughter of Harriet and Eugene Perry, growing up in Cape Cod before the family relocated to San Francisco. It was there she met her first husband, Ronald Thompson, and soon after high school they welcomed their son, Michaell.

Teresa began her career as a telephone operator, quickly discovering both a talent and a passion for the rapidly evolving world of computing. She worked her way into the computer room and eventually became a Manager—an early pioneer in a field that would shape much of her life.

Following her separation from Ronald, Teresa used her career at the telephone company to relocate to New Haven, Connecticut. There she met the love of her life, Anibal “Sonny” Galvin. The two were married on March 29, 1974, beginning more than four decades of partnership and devotion. They settled in Stratford, Connecticut, where Teresa worked alongside Sonny to build and manage a family construction business specializing in asphalt driveways. Their family grew with the joyful arrival of their daughter, Joanna, in 1984.

Throughout these years, Teresa continued her professional growth with the Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET). She mastered COBOL programming, played a key role in preparing systems for the Y2K transition, and ultimately rose to a management position—an accomplishment she took great pride in.

Never one to shy away from reinvention, Teresa pursued a new vocation in healthcare. In 1999, she enrolled at St. Vincent’s College, earning her Associate’s Degree in Cardiovascular Technology. She later became a pediatric cardio stenographer technician at Children’s Hospital in Boston, a role in which she provided compassionate care to countless children and their families.

Teresa and Sonny settled in Bellingham, Massachusetts, where she eventually retired, devoting herself to caring for Sonny until his passing in 2022. In her later years, as she began to experience the effects of dementia, Teresa moved to Colorado to be close to her son and his family. She spent her final years surrounded by love and support.

Teresa is survived by her sisters, Harrigene Johnson and Jennie Morey; her son, Michaell Galvin, his wife Davida, and their children Geddon, Harris, and Xander. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, intellect, devotion, and deep love for her family.

Her memory will be cherished always.
