September 11, 1937 – February 16, 2026
88 Years Old
Susie Roybal peacefully fell asleep in death with faith in Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection. Her family finds comfort in the Scriptures and the hope of a time when death will be no more, neither will mourning nor pain anymore. That promise lives in the hearts of all who loved her.
Susie was born in Chamisal, New Mexico, to Samuel and Ercilia Lopez. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Gabriel Lopez; and her daughter, Lapriel Duran, whose memories remained close to her heart. Though she carried the pain of their passing, her faith sustained her with the hope of reunion in Jehovah’s promised new world.
She is survived by her son, Gary Roybal; her daughter, Velma Lopez; and her cherished grandchildren: Charles Gomez and his wife, Moreen Gomez; Miranda Duran and Josephine Duran; Vanessa Koza; Michael Sweeney; Audrey Ballew; Jerome Roybal; Marcos Roybal; Miquela Roybal; Jessica Roybal; Carrie Roybal; Gary Roybal Jr.; and Schivonne Lopez, along with 23 beloved great-grandchildren.
Susie was the heart and foundation of her family: strong, independent, wise, and nurturing beyond measure. She devoted her life to caring for those she loved. Her strength carried generations, and her patience shaped lives. Her home was a place of warmth, protection, and guidance.
To her grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother. She was comfort and safety, with steady hands, a strong voice, and a watchful eye that always made sure everyone was okay. Her nurturing spirit was not something she did; it was who she was.
Susie’s life was a testament to resilience, faith, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the strength of her family and in the lessons she quietly taught through example.
Until the day we are reunited, we hold tightly to Jehovah’s promise and to the beautiful memories she gave us.
Her love remains our foundation.
Her strength lives within us.
Her memory will forever be treasured.
