1979 Samuel 'Sam' Phillip Linsenmaier 2024

Samuel 'Sam' Phillip Linsenmaier

May 13, 1979 — March 12, 2024

Denver

Samuel (Sam) Phillip Linsenmaier was born on Mother’s day May 13, 1979.  He died unexpectedly of natural causes in Denver on March 12, 2024.   Sam was born in Denver, Colorado where he lived until his graduation from University of Colorado with a double major in Political Science and History. He then moved to Chicago, IL  where he completed his Law Degree at Northwestern University, and spent many years practicing law there.

Sam is survived by his family including his parents Elma and Larry Linsenmaier, his brother Jeff Linsenmaier, sister- in-law Jamie, niece Zia, sister Sarah Linsenmaier, sister Christy Angerhofer, brother in-law Mark, nephew Isaiah, nieces Naomi and Rosalie, and his beloved pup Nora.

Sam was known for his brilliant mind, his love of animals, the ease of his company, his quick wit, and his enormous heart.  He walked in many worlds and made lifelong friends wherever he went.  He impacted each space and person he encountered in a profound way. Sam had a way with words and language and was a beautiful writer from a young age. He utilized his love of language in everything he did, from novel-like texts and letters, to poems and songs–all of which we will cherish.

To say he loved music would be an understatement.  Particularly he loved lyricism and used it to express himself openly, vulnerably,  and honestly. In Sam's world there was a song for everything.  His views of the world were never surface level, and like a good lawyer, he was always in a state of curiosity and truth seeking.

Sam loved bowling, sports, history, storytelling, and being with people he loved. His authenticity was incomparable, and is one of many reasons everyone he met felt valued, seen, and loved.  The world won’t be the same without his light shining the way.

Sam was beloved, and our lives are forever changed without him. All that he was, lives on through his family, particularly his nephew and nieces whose lives have been deeply shaped by his boundless love and pride.  Our family is thankful that so many had the good fortune to know and love Sam.
