Rosemary Lynne Schwoebel Linderman-Worlein, Psy.D. passed away on March 7, 2026, with family near by in Lakewood Colorado. Born March 5, 1946 in New Rockford, ND Rosemary was the baby of the family with two much older brothers, Richard and Lyle. They grew up on the Main Street of a small Midwest town that was thriving at the time. Her father, Lynn Schwoebel, served as town mayor and vice president of the main bank in town for several years. She was active in high school band, was homecoming queen, and after college married her high school sweetheart and homecoming king, Lowell Linderman in August of 1967. After college they relocated to Austin MN where Lowell had a job with Hormel Foods Corp. There she raised three children with Lowell and discovered her interest in working in mental health by counseling people with eating disorders working as a dietician in the Austin Clinic.
She was strong advocate for personal growth and education, and encouraged people to take an active role in directing their lives to find meaning and happiness. In October 1983 after several years of strife in her marriage and the confines of her husband’s religion, she made the decision to separate and re-start her life. She threw herself into her passion of mental health sciences and completed a doctoral degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology in 1992 — driving 1.5 hours each way to night classes in the twin cities through mid-west winters while juggling work and care for her youngest son.
The culmination of her education was a 12-month forensic psychology internship at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee where she developed a passion for mental health evaluations. There she interviewed (sometimes behind bulletproof glass or in padded cells) the most dangerous and disturbed individuals in the Florida prison system. She returned to Minnesota to develop her own practice for mental health services and performed hundreds of mental health assessments for court trials and criminal examinations over thirty years.
As her career progressed she joined the local Austin MN Rotary club and soon met the love of her life, John Worlein, and remarried in 2002. After many years of Minnesota winters they retired to the beautiful sun drenched waters and beaches of Gulfport Florida. They had rich experiences together socializing at the St. Petersburg Yacht club, volunteering as Docents at the Salvador Dali museum of St. Petersburg FL and many Caribbean cruises and trips. Later in life she also joined writers groups and wrote two books: “Grains of Truth: Grains of Deceit” in 2018, and “Deviancy” in 2022. In 2024 she relocated to Lakewood CO to be closer to family after John fell ill from a progressive lung disease and passed away.
Dr. Linderman-Worlein was preceded in death by her two brothers Richard and Lyle Schwoebel. She is survived by her three sons, David Linderman (Berlin, Germany), Ryan Linderman (Oakland, CA), and James Linderman (Lakewood, CO) and her Nephew’s Paul Schwoebel (Albuquerque, NM) and Eric Schwoebel (Boston, MA). Her Grandchildren include Max and Sophie Linderman (Oakland, CA) and Owen and Emery Linderman (Lakewood, CO).
A columbarium site will be chosen for her and John this summer, and a celebration of life will occur with family in the Colorado area.
