Special thanks to Dr Robert Ali, Del Corazon Hospice for the care given to Ron, to Mary and Jacob for the family support during the last weeks of Ron’s life.

Ron was kind, gentle and had a simple soul. He enjoyed hiking, riding horses in the wilderness, hanging out by the river and tending to the cows. He used to help Circle S Stables with their horses, trail rides, and hunting guides. Ron was quite the horse whisperer and had the talent to tame a horse to just his spunk. One horse that comes to mind was Brandy; Ron was one of the few that could ride him. Brandy had the spunk and spirit Ron appreciated and loved in a horse. Ron had lots of patience that made him successful and could be trophy hunter.

Ron worked as the foreman for the Freidman’s ranch until he fell ill with esophageal cancer. Ron’s other joy was driving over the road semi-trucks; he enjoyed the challenge of hauling heavy equipment and the long hours it took to deliver the perfect load.

Another pleasure for Ron was continuing the garden legacy of the Chief. He enjoyed planting and keeping up the garden his dad had started down by the river.

Among all his special talents, Ron also worked in construction and had visions of rustic, odd-shaped rooms. His designs consisted of exposed Vegas, natural wood, nice porch to sit on and semi round rooms, which fit into Santa Fe style homes or a cozy hidden cabin.

Ron was a special friend, counselor and comedian. He would spend countless times with a nice warm fire and a Bud in his hand. Whatever was bothering you, Ron was standing by your side to give words of wisdom or just stand in silence. If called for it, he would make a joke about the situation and give you the proper nickname. He seemed to know what was needed at the time. Ron was a special person and would give the shirt off his back to help out.

Ron loved listening and singing Spanish music. He was happiest when someone brought out a guitar and played his favorite songs. Depending on his mood, he would listen to Rock and even Monday night Native music. Sometimes you could hear his music echo through the canyon. Other times, his rough stomping as he danced around the campfire will live on in all of our memories.

Ron/Ronnie will be dearly missed but he is reunited with his mom (Hefita) and dad (the Chief).

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date
