Roger Campbell

July 6, 1927 — April 5, 2023

Denver, CO

Roger G. Campbell died peacefully on April 5, 2023 at his assisted living home in Denver, CO. He was born on July 6, 1927 in Cambridge, MA to Achor and Edna Campbell. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 50 years, Natalie Hall Campbell, as well as his brother, Abe Campbell, and sisters Joan Switzer and Ginny Reuman. He was the loving father of three children, Virginia Patterson (Copper Mountain, CO), Bonnie Campbell (Denver, CO) and Grant Campbell (wife Michele; Atlanta, GA) as well as the beloved ‘Papa’ to Colin Patterson (wife Abbie; Seattle, WA); Cameron Patterson and Cole Campbell and great grandfather to Theodore Patterson.

Roger’s service in WWII (Navy) and the Korean War (Army) helped shape his life and made him a proud patriot who loved to raise the American flag at the family’s cottage on Cape Cod. He taught us to always show respect to those who have served our country. He attended Tabor Academy (class of 1946) and RI School of Design as well as the Philadelphia Textile Institute. His extensive career in textiles sales and design led him to move frequently. He lived in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Georgia and South Carolina before
retiring and returning to Falmouth, MA on Cape Cod. In 2018, he moved to Atlanta to be closer to his son’s family. Then, in 2022, he moved to Denver to be closer to his daughters.

Cape Cod was a very special place for Roger. He met Natalie there, spent most of his summers enjoying family get togethers filled with love and laughter, and consumed innumerable quahogs and lobsters! After moving back to Falmouth in 2002, he enjoyed his group of friends in the Dillingham Place community, being a member of the Falmouth Congregational Church and volunteering at Falmouth Hospital. He was also active with the Cape Cod Curling Club. His family is organizing a grave-side memorial later this summer where he will be put to rest next to Natalie at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Falmouth, MA.
