Chef Robert Joe Saia passed away June 2, 2022 in Thornton, Colorado.  He was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 22, 1965 the son of Carla Regehr (Stan) and son of Ronald F. Saia (Barb).

Robert attended Maude Bishop Grade School, Jardine Junior High School and Topeka West High School graduating in 1984.  He attended Pittsburg State University and was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and played the trumpet in the band.  He also attended Kansas State University graduating in 1990 and received his Dietetic Degree.  He had a passion for music, and loved to play the saxophone and the trumpet.

In 2000, Robert met his current wife, Sharity Saia who he lovingly referred to as Mrs. Chef, as she was trained by him to be his Soux Chef.  They spent 22 amazing years together, hosting hundreds of events and teaching culinary classes out of their home.  He was a loving stepfather to Sharity’s son, Easton Barnes.

He was ornery, funny, goofy and a delight to be around.  His smile lit up a room, and he was an incredibly devoted friend. He leaves behind so many that loved him deeply. His beloved wife, Sharity, his stepson, Easton. His mother, Carla Regehr (Stan), his father, Ron Saia, (Barb), his brother, Scott Saia, and his sister, Tisha (Saia) Cowen.  His much loved aunts, uncle, nieces, nephew, cousins and so many loved friends.
