It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Rick Harvey's passing at the age of 67 on January 30, 2024, surrounded by the comforts of his home in Aurora, Colorado.
Rick's journey began on January 20, 1957, in Aurora, Colorado, to Kenneth and Mildred Harvey. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted service dog, Pirate, and his three sisters: Connie, Tammy, and Sheryl. Rick was also dearly loved by his nieces and nephews, Shawna, Charity, Chad, Justin, Lucas, Travis, and Nicole, and his great nieces and great nephews, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister Sandy, and two devoted service dogs, Dillon and Vidor.
Throughout his life, Rick's indomitable spirit and strength inspired all who knew him. Despite encountering adversity at a young age when he was paralyzed in a gymnastics accident, Rick's determination to embrace life never faltered. Supported by his loyal friends and loving family, he pursued his passions with endless courage.
Rick found joy in various sports, from baseball, gymnastics, boating, fishing, snow skiing to avidly following the Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche and Rockies, as well as Fantasy Football. Music also held a special place in Rick's heart, particularly the melodies of Jimmy Buffet and the Eagles.
Rick's steady bravery, patience, and boundless love make him an enduring symbol of resilience and inspiration. His remarkable ability to uplift others ensures that his legacy will live on, leaving an everlasting impact on those he touched. While his physical absence leaves an irreplaceable void, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
