Richard Pritekel's Obituary

Richard Lawrence Pritekel, age 64, passed away at home in Denver Colorado, on February 27, 2026.

Richard was born June 13, 1961, in Denver Colorado, to Fred A. Pritekel and Patricia L. (Bloom) Pritekel. Most of his childhood and early adult years were spent in Evergreen Colorado. He was currently employed at Empower.

Richard had a life long love of automobiles, from Matchbox and Hot Wheels, which he continued to collect, along with vintage model cars. He also kept up with each American automaker's newest model car for the year. In addition, Richard loved traveling with friends and acting in musical theater.

He is survived by his father, Fred Pritekel; siblings David Pritekel (Susan), Kathleen Penman (Kelly), and Cynthia Pritekel; along with multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Pritekel.

An informal celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 13th at 3:45 pm at the home of John & Melissa Newkirk. Their address is 26214 Grand Summit Trl, Evergreen, CO, which is the 2nd driveway past the gate (gate code is 9080). There will be a light meal offered with salads, etc. and an informal remembrance. Afterwards, Richard's ashes will be spread on the property, which is about a 45 minute walk from the house (company can choose to walk or drive).
