Thornton, Colorado

Richard 'Dick' Dullard, a kind, caring, and loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 77 on September 20, 2025, in Thornton, Colorado.

Born on December 8, 1947, in Waterloo, IA, Dick spent his life ensuring that those he loved were always cared for and never went without. From a young age, he had a deep passion for electronics and technology, a field in which he thrived throughout his over 30-year career at AT&T. His fascination with the latest gadgets and technological innovations was a lifelong pursuit that he happily shared with others.

Dick found joy in exploring the natural beauty of Colorado and the surrounding states. He was a frequent visitor to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, where he found peace in observing the bison, deer, and other animals. Dick was an avid moviegoer, a dedicated thrift shopper, and loved discovering new restaurants. Most of all, he treasured time spent playing cards and games with his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 20 years, Linda Dullard; parents, Ray and Mildred Dullard; brothers, Mike, Tim, and Tony Dullard; sister, Kathy Widdle; and his stepdaughter-in-law, Kim Chavez. Dick's legacy lives on through his son, Rick Dullard; his stepdaughter, Stephanie (Matthew) Schreiber; his stepson, Steven (Lisa) Sharp; his grandchildren, Amber (Jake), Raemi, Hudson, Hailey, and Taylor. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Dullard; sisters, Mary Michels, and Deb Dettmer; and his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. His warm spirit, caring nature, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Dick will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuges, a place where he found much joy and peace.
