It is hard to put into words the loss of Phillip Michael Brownlow. On February 23, 2026, at the age of 58, we lost a son, a brother, a husband, a friend and a man whose kindness and laughter filled every room he entered.

If you knew Phil, you knew kindness, laughter and music.

Phil was born on September 7, 1967, in Denver, Colorado and was the middle of three children. He proudly graduated from Thornton High School in 1987.

Phil was a man of extraordinary generosity. His heart was enormous, and he gave freely of himself in every way that mattered. He was generous not only with his time and attention, but with his encouragement, compassion and unwavering support. He had a way of making every person feel seen, valued, and uniquely important. His kindness was steady, sincere, and extended to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

One of the great joys of Phil's life was music. He was a true music buff, especially when it came to the sounds of the 1960s and 1970s. His knowledge of that era was vast and impressive-there was hardly a question he couldn't answer. And he didn't just share facts; he told stories, weaving history, trivia, and personal insight together that made every conversation fascinating. 

Some of Phil's favorite work was doing security for bands and concerts where he met countless musicians and experienced the energy of live music up close. He also worked the door at the beloved music venue the D Note. Some of his happiest moments were at the D Note, where the music was loud, the stories were endless, and Phil was right where he belonged, surrounded by people who had become like family to him.

Beyond music, Phil had a remarkable memory and a deep appreciation for history-including stories of his own family. His recall for dates and details was astounding, and he had a gift for remembering the small things about people that made them feel seen and valued. Phil shared his amazing heart and kind spirit with everyone.

Phil was also incredibly funny. His quick wit, gentle sense of humor and that tender, genuine laugh will remain in the hearts of those who love him forever.

Phil deeply loved his family and his wife Kerrie. He was devoted to her, proud of her, and grateful for the life they shared together.

He is preceded in death by his father Don Brownlow; and his sister-in-law Debbie Brabo-Brownlow. He is survived by his mother Charlene Brownlow; his loving wife Kerrie; his brother Don Brownlow; his sister Michelle Simonds (James); his nephew, Matthew and his niece, Heather; along with extended family members and many dear friends.

Phil's life was defined by kindness, loyalty, laughter and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
