Michael W. Hanslip

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael W. Hanslip, who left this world peacefully at home on July 19th, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on December 29th, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. Mike was a cherished son to Wayne and Betty and a beloved member of a loving family.

Mike served his country with honor in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1977, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and resilience. Following his service, he dedicated many years of hard work as a forklift operator at US Foods, where his colleagues grew to appreciate his reliability, skill and camaraderie.

Beyond his professional life, Mike was an adventurer at heart, passionate about the outdoors. Whether it was fishing, camping under the stars, hiking through nature's splendor, or simply spending time on the water, Mike found solace and joy in the natural world.

Mike was not only a man of action but of heart. His gentle nature, infectious smile, and sense of humor brightened the lives of all who knew him. He was incredibly handy, always willing to lend a helping hand, and his loyalty to family and friends was unwavering. He was an avid traveler with his partner Jeanette, ever curious about new places and experiences, and enjoyed the occasional thrill of slot machines.

Mike lived a life overflowing with kindness, laughter, and a steadfast devotion to those he held dear. He is fondly remembered by his devoted partner, Jeanette, his loving son Aaron and wife Miranda, his cherished daughter Emily, and his former spouse, Terri. Mike was the proud grandfather of four wonderful grandchildren: Vivianna, Taylor, Trinity, and Oliver, who brought immense joy to his life. Mike also leaves behind his beloved mother, Betty and his siblings, Susan, Greg, and Ron. He was predeceased by his father, Wayne.

His greatest delights came from the time spent on the water; fishing, closely followed by time with his grandchildren and his cherished dogs, who were constant companions in his journey through life. In accordance with his wishes, a private celebration will be held to honor Mike’s life.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the HO-BO Care Boxer Rescue or Foothills Animal Shelter, reflecting his love for dogs and his enduring legacy of compassion. Mike's memory will forever be a guiding light for those who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the stories shared, the laughter recalled, and the love that continues to bind his family together; who take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.
