Marie "Annette" Sandoval Duran Nigh, 78, born on October 7, 1946, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, and joined our Heavenly Father on December 14, 2024.
Marie was known for her boundless compassion, deep love for God and family, and her joyful, spontaneous energy. She was a faithful and devoted mother whose strength and light touched all who knew her.
She was the cherished daughter of Jose Arsenio “Archie” Romero and Josie Whittington Romero. Her memory lives on in her beloved children: Lori Ann Harris (Ryan), Gilbert Adam Sandoval, Jolin Marie Sandoval, Joseph Edward Duran, and Joshua Joseph Duran.
She was a proud grandmother to Samantha Villa, Jose Villa Jr., Monique Montoya, Sara Chavez, Katrina Sandoval, and Charlotte Duran, and a loving great-grandmother to Jaylin Grimm, Jace Grimm, and Jasmine Grimm.
Annette's siblings: Archie Romero (Irene), Bernadette Baca, Leroy Romero (Berlinda), Alfred Romero, Filo Mena Lopez (Ralph), Kathy Wujick, Elizabeth Suazo, Zoila Matamorez (Ernie), Gus Romero, Julius Romero, and Sylvia Herrera (Daniel).
Annette was a member of San Ignacio Catholic Church, where she found strength in her faith and community. Her radiant smile and vibrant spirit will never be forgotten, she will be deeply missed and forever live in our hearts.
The Rosary will be recited by Maria Romero at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9, at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, followed by Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately after at Sandia Memory Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church hall.
