Lisa Marie Avery

Lisa Marie Avery (51) of Denver, Colorado passed away on June 21, 2026. Born on November 7, 1974 in Jacksonville, Illinois, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Kathleen Brown and Alan Avery.  

Lisa grew up in Havana, Illinois and moved to Springfield, Illinois at age 15 where she graduated from Springfield High School. She was also a graduate of the Denver School of Nursing and was a nurse at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. Lisa took great pride in her work and cherished the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of others through her role.  

Lisa was committed to being around family and friends. She rarely had a time that she didn’t have an upcoming trip scheduled, whether vacation, concert or family event. Her plans always included family or friends. 

Lisa’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her devoted husband, Peter Giannantonio, her parents Kathleen Brown, Alan Avery, and the woman she called her bonus mom, Lois Avery. She also leaves behind her sister Kimberly Cumbo (Adam), stepbrothers Brian Walsh (Lexie) and Michael Walsh (Christine), stepsisters Sylvia Burnett (Jason), and Stacey Brown along with several nieces and nephews, and beloved dog, Ben. 

Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Jo Ann Bradshaw, and Roy and Evelyn Avery as well as step-father Kevin Brown. 

Lisa will live on in the memory of all who knew her. Her boundless love of family, friends, travel, and life leave an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire all those she touched. There will be a celebration of Lisa’s life on July 3, 2026 from 11:00am to 7:00PM at Chatfield State Park - Fox Run Picnic Area, Southwest side of the reservoir.
