Leslie M. Capra (Saulter), 69, a beloved resident of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on August 7, 2025. Her life will be celebrated at a later date, allowing all who knew her to gather and honor her memory.

Born in Denver, Colorado on June 10, 1956, Leslie’s spirit was rooted in the vibrant landscapes of her home state. She grew up in Littleton, Colorado, where she embraced the active lifestyle of the mountains and lakes, becoming an avid water skier and snow skier. Her passion for horses shone brightly through her many accomplishments in Western Pleasure riding events, where her dedication and skill brought her numerous awards. After graduating from Arapahoe High School, Leslie continued her education at Metropolitan State College. She built a highly successful career as a tax accountant, establishing her own respected business. Her clients not only trusted her expertise but also cherished her warm and dedicated approach. For many years, she also contributed her talents to the transportation industry while continuing to nurture her thriving accounting practice.

Leslie was preceded in death by her loving parents, father (Rufus) and mother (Maria Antoinette) and her dear brother (Dexter). She leaves behind her devoted spouse (Bruce Rabe), and her dear sister (Karla Kalcevic). Her memory will be cherished by her stepchildren (Zeb and Hope Rabe and her husband Nick Ralston); her grandchildren (Aryanna, Zoey, Lydia, and Maverick); her nephews and their spouses (Joey and Vicky Kalcevic and Larry and Jamie Kalcevic); and her grandnephews and grandnieces (Jackson, Lucas, Lydia, and Ryan).

Leslie will be profoundly missed and remembered for her boundless generosity, especially during the Christmas season, a time she truly adored. Her thoughtful gifts and the joy she brought to Christmas gatherings will forever be treasured memories for her family and friends. Leslie loved the game of golf, and we will remember her excitement at making a hole in one playing in golf tournament in California. Her adventurous spirit led her to explore exotic locations around the globe, including Africa, Russia, Switzerland, and Churchill, Canada, capturing the beauty of each place through her remarkable photography. Yet, her heart always held a special place for Colorado. She meticulously explored her beloved state from border to border with her husband, creating a stunning photographic legacy that serves as a lasting tribute to her deep love for nature and wildlife.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation may make them to The Friends of the Front Range Wildlife Refuge, a non-profit organization dedicated to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge (one of Leslie’s most cherished places to visit) at https://ffrwr.org/.
