Kevin Johnson Sr.

Kevin Wayne Johnson Sr., Colorado native and longtime resident of Commerce City, passed away on June 26th, 2021 at his home.  Kevin was born September 14, 1958 in Denver, Colorado to parents Kenneth Wayne Johnson of Arkansas and Shirley Mae Lovell Johnson of Michigan. Kevin grew up in Commerce City attending Alsup Elementary, Kearney Middle, and Adams City High Schools. He played baseball and participated in both Jr High and High School band playing the trumpet. He especially enjoyed playing in the Jazz Band under the direction of Mr Toby Daley. His love of music continued throughout his life singing in the church choir and later playing bass guitar in the worship band. He also loved fishing and camping, and football and hockey. In his later years he became an avid Bronco and Avalanche fan. Kevin is survived by his wife Sue, sister Tami Magoon, son Kevin Jr, stepsons Michael and Matthew Muse, and two grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday August 14 at 11:00 am at Christlife Church 5451 E Highway 86, Franktown CO 80116.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite NFL or NHL attire in honor of his love for football and hockey.

There will be a lunch and time of sharing immediately after the service.
