Justin James Owen

April 28, 1982 – January 14, 2026

Jay, as he was affectionally called passed leaving a hole in our hearts that will never heal. He is a beloved and cherished son, brother, father, uncle, cousin and nephew. His kind heart, laugh, patience and love for his family above all, are missed.

He worked in the construction industry beginning at age 16 and was skilled at framing, cabinets, tile, flooring and about anything he set his mind to. He loved helping people.

He was born and raised in California then moving to Alabama with his now estranged wife and their children. He then made a move to Tennessee bringing daughter Averie Owen to both live with his sister. He adapted to the South especially Hendersonville as it reminded him of his hometown.

He liked riding his Harley, which scared his mother. He also enjoyed canoeing, fishing and snorkeling with his children. Listing to music is another activity he enjoyed. He enjoyed eating and liked most foods. He had a true love for God, and he liked his church in Alabama. He cherished and loved his family.

He is survived by his adoring mother Kim Gloria Owen of California and his adoring sister Adrienne Michelle Owen of Tennessee. Stepfather David Bentrum of California. His children whom he loved dearly are Austin James Owen, Hailey Jade Owen, Madisen Katlyn Owen, and Summer Elizabeth Owen of Kentucky. Emily Michelle Owen of California and Averie Jean Owen of Tennessee. Children living in Alabama are Gavin Owen, Preston Owen, Harliee Owen and Peighton Owen. Also, one grandchild a granddaughter Emryn Rose Perez of Kentucky. Nephew Izaiah James Shekleton of Tennessee. Debbie Lynn Youngs of Oregon a maternal aunt and 3 cousins Jessica Knapp of Oregon, Eric Youngs of Tennessee and Daniel Youngs of Oregon.

We know we will see you in paradise Jay and you will greet us at the gates. Rest in Peace honey. We miss and love you to the moon and back. Life here will never be the same. I know you will watch over your children and walk with them in trials and tribulations in life
