John “David” Romero

On Friday March 1, 2019 our beloved David went peacefully to our Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.  "Born into this world on May 21, 1959 to Ramon and Julia Romero in Jacona, NM, David lived a full life enjoying every moment along the way.  His anchor in life was his wife Eileen who was always faithfully by his side. For over 36 years they were always there for each other and were the perfect pair. They both loved each other faithfully and unconditionally and reared two beautiful children Leann and Henry.

Being the eternal optimist, his glass was always full, literally and figuratively. He was an excellent cook and cared deeply for his family and friends. He enjoyed the finer things in life; food, drink and clothing.  He was also always up to date with sports both locally and nationally and could always provide accurate play by play details.

David had a very caring heart and was always there for family and friends in their time of need. David's family was everything to him. He was always there for his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors in academics and athletics.

Up until his final day, David's catholic faith and love of Jesus was firm and unwavering. David was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Julia Romero, his brothers Vicente and Raymond Romero and his sister Mary Louise Ortiz, brothers-in-law Modesto Espinoza, Eraclio Espinoza, Carmen Martinez, Tony Martinez and special close friend William “Dash” Dashkovitz.  He is survived by his loving wife Eileen. Eileen's siblings; Tillie Martinez, Lydia Martinez (Flavio), Betty Espinoza, Kelly Espinoza, and Carmen Espinoza   (Virginia). His step-children LeAnn Saiz (Jake) and Henry Quintana (Suzette). His Grandchildren Jasmin, Trinity, Jacob, Joshua, Anthony, Victoria and Josephine. His bothers Leroy (Rita) Romero and Philbert (Christine) Romero and his sister Maida (Manuel) Gomez plus many other nephews, nieces and close friends.

Lastly, a heartfelt debt of gratitude to all his family and friends including the Gomez, Espinoza, Saiz and Martinez family members for the love, care and support they gave David these past few months.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 13th at 9:00 a.m. and Holy Mass at 10:00 a.m. reception to follow.

All services will be held at Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe 9 Grazing Elk Dr. Pojoaque, NM.

The Family of John David Romero has entrusted the care of their beloved one to Avista Cremation & Burial.
