He was then on the faculties at UC Irvine, University of Texas Houston, Rockefeller University, LSU Medical Center and the University of Colorado. He was mentored from 1983-1986 by Dr. Paul Greengard, Nobel Laureate in 2000 for studies orprotein phosphorylation. His work in neurobiology resulted in more than 100 publications; he was internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work of the regulation of the enzymes that effect dopamine biosynthesis. As Chief Scientific Officer at PhosphoSolutions, John helped the company develop a state-of-the-art facility for the production of phosphospecific anti-bodies. These antibodies greatly accelerate drug discovery and research in neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's and cancer. John's culinary pursuits allowed him to lead a team that placed in the Arriba Terlingua world Championship Chili Cook -Off.
