John Fulton

John Fulton passed away May 17, 2022 in Aurora, Colorado at the young at heart age of 88. He was born January 11, 1934 in El Paso, Texas.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Theodore Fulton and Vivian Navarr; sister, Mary Fulton and wife, Darlene Fulton who passed away November 15, 2021. He is survived by their two daughters, Sharna Fulton (and son-in-law, Rob Blaszkiewicz) of Atlanta, Georgia and Tamra Young of Tucson, Arizona.

A University of Texas alumni, he was a devoted Longhorns football fan whose favorite chant was “Hook ‘em Horns.” He served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1964.

John was a lifelong writer and wordsmith who aced the daily “Jumble,” self-published a novelette, “Shallbelove” and began his post-college career as a reporter with the Albuquerque Journal. Next, he moved to Denver where he was a public relations professional and photographer for Ideal Cement Company. John then spent the majority of his career as a salesman with Dun & Bradstreet.

He was also an actor in his youth and young adulthood appearing in the Billy Wilder film, “Ace in the Hole” with Kirk Douglas and starring in his church’s production of “Our Town.”

After retirement, he found his passion in local politics as a volunteer for the democratic party and served as chair for house district 40 in Arapahoe County. In 2013, he founded “Coffee Klatch,” a monthly informal meet-up and newsletterto bring his fellow dems and friends together.

Per his wishes, he was cremated. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in his name to the Arapahoe County Democrats.
