John Dean Alexander

Centennial, Colorado

John Dean Alexander, age 78, of Centennial, Colorado, died Thursday, February 8, 2024.  He passed away peacefully at his home in the arms of his loving wife and soulmate Sherri. 

   In honor of John's wishes he will be cremated and he requested no service be held. 

   John Dean Alexander was born December 7, 1945 in Madison County, Iowa, to Raymond Burton Alexander and Lucille V. Clark. His marriage to Sherri Lynn Snyder took place May 7, 1966. 

   John graduated from Winterset High School in 1963. He loved the land and farmed until he went to serve his country in 1966 obtaining the rank of Sergeant in the US Army, and farmed after he returned home to Madison County. 

   John and his family moved to Colorado in 1977.  John worked at Home Improvement/Lumber Centers, Hugh M Woods and Payless Cashways where he was Regional Personnel Manager.  Until his retirement in 2015, John worked at Home Depot at the contractor's desk, where he was known as "the Legend". 

   John loved his family, and enjoyed spending time with them in the mountains and outdoors. He spent many hours hiking, fishing, and tracking down moose for photographic memories and stories to tell.   

   He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Delores and Ann; his brothers Eugene, Donald and Eddie; and his son-in-law Eric Lee. 

   John is survived by his wife Sherri; his children Laurie Lee and Michael (Farah) Alexander; his grandchildren Nicholas Milton, Jordan Willow Lee (Greyson Bellar), Chanel Alexander and Cylus Alexander; great-grandson, Dakan John Lee-Bellar; his sister-in-law Louise Alexander of Broomfield, Colorado; his sister-in-law JoAnne (Gary) Walker of Winterset, Iowa, along with many nieces and nephews. 

   John will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors.
