Joe Winings, a man with the biggest and kindest heart, passed away on May 12, 2024, at the age of 51. Born on February 2, 1973, in Colorado Springs, CO, Joe had a deep love for his family and cherished his role as a father to his beloved daughters, Avery and Emma.
Joe's life revolved around his favorite hobbies, including coaching softball, playing golf, and showing off his culinary skills on the grill. He had a passion for traveling with his family and exploring new destinations. Joe was also known for his love of food, especially steak, wings, and anything that could be grilled, even the simple pleasure of a PB&J sandwich.
A music enthusiast, Joe enjoyed listening to bands such as Dave Matthew's Band, Lumineers, Zack Brown Band, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters. He found joy in watching movies, with favorites including Animal House, This is 40, Godfather, Schindler's List, and the Pirates of the Caribbean saga.
In his free time, Joe found comfort in watching TV shows like Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, and Seinfeld. He was a sports enthusiast, following hockey, baseball, and football closely. Joe shared a special bond with his pets Bernie, Maggie, and Samantha, who were his loyal companions throughout his life.
Joe was deeply loved by his parents, Mary Spiers, Joe Sanchez, and his adoptive father, Dan Winings. He also shared a strong bond with his siblings, Jenn Alexander, Michael Winings, and Cristina White. Joe had an extended family that he deeply cared about, including his best friend and ex-wife, Nicole Winings, and her family Pam and Don Lechner, as well as Nicole's brother Adam Lechner. His niece Jayde and Brother in Law Brandon.
Joe's genuine and caring nature touched the lives of everyone around him. He would always go above and beyond to help his family and friends. Joe will be remembered for his unwavering love and kindness.
Joe Winings attended Cheyenne Mountain High School and considered the Broadmor in Colorado Springs his stomping grounds. His favorite place in the world was Costa Rica, where he dreamt of one day moving to.
Joe Winings will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.
