In Loving Memory of Jessica Ann “Jessie” Kigerl
Jessica Ann “Jessie” Kigerl, cherished daughter, sister, and friend, was born on July 30, 2002, and passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 23.
Jessie was the beloved and only daughter of Karl and Niki Kigerl. The love she brought into their lives is immeasurable, and the space she leaves behind cannot be filled. She is lovingly remembered by her older brother, Jerry Kigerl, and her twin younger brothers, John and Joe Kigerl, who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She is also survived by her grandparents, Larry and Clyda Elginer, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who were touched by her kindness and spirit. She is preceded in death by her Papa Jerry Kigerl, and Nana Joan Kigerl. Jessie shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Lily—her “baby girl”—who was a constant source of comfort and joy in her life.
Jessie lived her life with courage, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose. She served her community as an EMT while working toward her paramedic certification, all while volunteering with the Franktown Fire Department. Being a first responder was more than a role to Jessie—it was a calling. The people she served alongside became her second family, and she took pride in caring for others in their moments of greatest need.
Jessie loved deeply and lived fully. She found happiness in rock climbing, evenings spent around bonfires with friends, and the simple, meaningful moments shared with family. Her pets, Bo and Lily, brought her endless joy, and her time with loved ones was something she treasured above all else.
Jessie’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, purpose, and connection. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her—in every act of kindness, every shared laugh, and every moment of courage.
In honor of Jessie, the family invites you to share a memory and, if you wish, make a donation in her name to Humane Colorado.
Celebration of Life will be held at Smoky Hill United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 2nd, at 2 pm.
