Janie Howell

Janie Howell (née McClammy), age 96, died in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on July 12, 2022.

Born November 24, 1925, she lived in San Diego and worked as a teacher until her retirement. Janie sang her own song (quite literally), traveling the world and spending quality time with family and friends. She shared stories and love generously, from impromptu singing “engagements” in foreign taverns to bending rules for the fun of all.

Survivors include daughter Kristi (Robert) Harris, son Kurt (Grace) Ganderup, grandchildren Jason, Heather, Matthew, and Sarah, four great-grandchildren, and many beloved friends, nieces, and nephews. Janie was preceded in death by siblings Dick, David, and Marian.

Services will be held in California at a later date.
