James “David” Moyers, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. David was born on January 4, 1950 to the late JD Moyers and Ruby Rollings (Cobb) in Hobbs, New Mexico. David was a longtime resident of Moriarty, New Mexico and a proud member of the Hobbs High School Class of 1969 in Hobbs, New Mexico. David worked in the oil and gas industry for many years. David was a cowboy through and through. He will always be remembered for his love of his horses and dogs, harmonica playing, love for old western movies and his Facebook presence. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Moyers; his children, Jeff Moyers (Ashley) of Hobbs, NM, Jon Moyers of Carlsbad, NM, Dustan Moyers (MariAna) of Idalou, TX, Aaron Moyers (Kayla) of Milton Freewater, OR, Jenna Solis (Miguel) of Albuquerque NM, Eric Scott of Lubbock, TX, and Lauren Scott (Josh) Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by his sister, Paula Heskett of Colorado Springs, CO and grandchildren/great-grandchildren: Jacey (Joe), Jacob, Joni, Jonah, Lily, Peytan, KelbiAnn, Isabella, Xavier, Mason, Sammy, Landry Jo, and Stevie. David was proceeded in death by his parents, Ruby and Floyd Rollings, his father JD Moyers and his daughter Marie Antoinette Moyers. At David’s request the family will celebrate his life privately.
