Jack Ortiz

December 2, 1964 — March 2, 2013

Jack Edward Ortiz, 48, died peacefully at his home in Aurora, Colorado on March 2nd, 2013, surrounded by his family.

He was born along with his twin sister, Sylvia, on December 2nd, 1964, to Henry and Brenda Little Ortiz. He was born in Seville, Spain, on a military base where the family was stationed.

Jack graduated with honors from Gateway High School, in Aurora, Colorado in 1983. A fiercely loyal man, Jack worked for 27+ years at Citywide Banks formerly Aurora National Bank. He started with the bank in 1985 as an entry level bookkeeper and worked his way up to Assistant Vice President of Operations.

Jack lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures - gathering with friends and family, tending to his yard, taking trips, listening to music, golfing with his brothers, and spoiling his nieces and nephews. Jack was an extremely thoughtful and caring person. He never forgot anyone's birthday or anniversary. Even in his final days when he was extremely ill, Jack stressed about Christmas and birthday presents for his loved ones.

Jack loved to vacation with his friends and family. He was quite fond of England, where his mother was born and raised and he and his family made several trips there over the years; Las Vegas, where he could hang out by a pool or gamble; and Mexico where he could let loose with his friends.

Jack was known for his quick wit - he enjoyed the playful banter that often took place during gatherings with friends and family.

He was often called "Eddie", a derivative of his middle name, Edward. It was a nickname given to him by his brothers. He was also affectionately called Jacko, Spider Eddie or the Bald Man.

Jack is survived by his parents, Henry and Brenda, his siblings, Nicholas "Kiko" Amanda, twin sister Sylvia Jim, John, William "Butch", Pat Jimmy, Roy; nieces and nephews Elizabeth, Drake, Samantha, Benjamin, Mary, Andy, Suzanne and Chad.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Jack touched are invited to a service and reception to honor, reminisce and celebrate Jack's life.

The service, followed by a reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th at Horan & McConaty located at 11150 E Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014. 303-745-4418.
