George Richard Roberge

George Roberge, age 73, passed away on July 20, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Though his light was taken from us far too soon, George fought a brave and tireless battle with cancer for nine years—a testament to the incredible strength, determination, and resilience that defined his entire life.

Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, George was the beloved son of the late Richard and Margaret "Peggy" Roberge. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire, laying the foundation for a long, dedicated career in logistics and humanitarian service.

George spent his early career in transport management, working at St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. from 1974 to 1993, and Nation’s Way Express from 1993 to 1999. For the final two decades of his professional life (2000–2020), George brought his skill and heart to Project C.U.R.E., where he was deeply proud to spend his years "delivering health and hope" to people in need around the world before retiring in 2020.

To know George was to know a man who was always in motion. A lifelong hockey player, he carried his love for the ice well into his adult years. He was also a passionate Red Sox and Patriots fan—a true New Englander who stuck by his teams with unwavering devotion, even through all the heartache and angst they put him through over the years.

An avid outdoorsman, he found joy on the ski slopes, logging miles on his road bike, and spending sunny days on the golf course. Among his favorite places to kick back and slowdown was Cape Cod, where he treasured time spent relaxing and making memories with family and dear friends. When he wasn't outside or on the coast, he was tinkering in his workshop. A talented handyman with a passion for woodworking, George had a rare gift for fixing, building, and making things better—he simply couldn't sit still if there was a project to be tackled.

Above all his hobbies and career accomplishments, George was a family man. He was a devoted, wonderful husband to his wife, Debbie, and a loving, proud father to his children, Matthew and Molly. His warm spirit, boundless energy, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Peggy, and his brother, Robert Roberge.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deb; his children, Matthew and Molly; his cherished grandchildren; Louella, Reese, Mallory, Brynn, and Sadie; his brother, John; his sister, Anne Marie; and a large, loving network of extended family and close friends.
