Frederick James Whiteford Beloved Husband, father, Veteran, and Protector December 4,1940 – August 13, 2025

Frederick James Whiteford, a devoted family man, proud Marine LCpl, and tireless worker, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025. He was a strong and steady presence in the lives of all who knew him — a constant force whose love and guidance never wavered.

Son of Donald and Betty Whiteford , he is survived by his children , family and friends who loved him dearly.

Fred served his country with pride as a United States Marine, living by its code with unwavering integrity. That same sense of honor followed him into civilian life, where he built a successful career in construction through unmatched work ethic and dedication. Even after retirement, Fred continued to serve others by working for the local school district, helping children with disabilities with the same compassion and commitment he gave to all aspects of his life.

To those who knew him, Fred was more than just a man — he was a guardian, a protector, and a father in every sense of the word. Though we were not his by blood, he loved us as his own. He caught us when we fell, lifted us when we were down, and pushed us forward when we lost our way. His strength was the backbone of our family, his honesty our compass, and his presence a blessing we never took for granted.

Behind his tough exterior was a deeply loving man who made room in his heart for anyone in need. His love extended well beyond family ties, embracing every child he cared for and every soul lucky enough to call him a friend.

Fred’s greatest joys came from simple but meaningful things: cheering for the Denver Broncos, watching or playing sports — especially softball — and spending time with his family. He lived a life of purpose, love, and service, and leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and enduring love.

Fred will be laid to rest with the love of his life Rosa at Fort Logan National Cemetery , 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236 on Friday September the 5th at 1 pm with a Celebration of life to be held after .

He will be missed deeply, remembered always, and honored forever.
