Frederick Samuel Ward

Fredrick Samuel Ward was born on January 5th, 1952 in Anoka Minnesota to Wilbert Hounshel Ward and Archi Rose Machesney. Surrounded by his family, he passed away on September 20, 2026 in Denver, Colorado.

Fred lived in Minnesota, Illinois, Utah, Idaho and Colorado. His professional career as a manufacturing engineer for John Deere took him across the world as he worked to improve the performance of various harvesting machines.

Fred was an avid outdoorsman and he passed along his love of nature, paddling and camping to his children and grandchildren. He especially loved to canoe and camp in the lakes and wilderness of northern Minnesota. As an outward expression of his lifelong spiritual connection, Fred was a compassionate volunteer, serving in various capacities in church, scouting and other community organizations. Other hobbies included Yoga, Reiki, gardening, motorcycle riding, and music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rita Dokken and brother David Ward. He is survived by his sister Cora Lueben, former spouse Carolyn Ward and six children Aaron Ward (spouse Sarah), Kevin Ward (spouse Becky), Samuel Ward (spouse Lisa), Rosanne Angeles (spouse Rafa), Laura Bravo (spouse Josh) and Staci Kudie, and 23 grandchildren.

Per Fred’s request, there will be no formal services.
