In addition to his passion for psychiatry and psychoanalysis, Fred enjoyed teaching at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center Department of Psychiatry, the Denver Institute for Psychoanalysis, the Denver Psychoanalytic Society, and the Colorado Society for Psychology and Psychoanalysis. He was very proud of his Associate Professorship in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Outside of his academia, Fred enjoyed the company of horses, specifically, Davenport Arabian horses, raising them, breeding them, loaning them, borrowing them, training them and of course, riding them from 1963 to 2020.
Fred is survived by Barbara Ann Harris Mimmack, his wife of 64 years, his four sons, Bob, Ken, Karl and Chris, twelve grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
