In Loving Memory of Ethan Gailey
Ethan Gailey, 19, was born on August 17, 2007, and passed away on August 29, 2026, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Ethan was a beloved son, brother, fiancé, friend, and teammate whose presence brought joy to so many people. Above all, Ethan was a Christian whose faith was an important part of who he was. He had a kind heart, a genuine love for others, and a goodness that was evident to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ethan’s passion for soccer began at just four years old. He played for Harpeth High School for four years and continued his love of the game as a member of the Cumberland men’s JV soccer team into his sophomore year. Soccer brought him countless memories, friendships, and experiences that he cherished.
During the summers, Ethan worked in landscaping, where he enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. He loved spending time outside, riding jet skis and four-wheelers, and making the most of every opportunity for adventure. He also adored his dog, Lila, who held a special place in his heart.
Above all, Ethan loved his fiancée, Lily. Their love was a beautiful and cherished part of his life.
Ethan is survived by his parents, Mark and Holly Gailey; his brother, Andrew Gailey; his fiancée, Lily; and countless family members and friends who loved him deeply.
Ethan was truly a great person who made the world around him better simply by being in it. So many people were blessed to know and love him. His faith, kindness, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of everyone whose life he touched. Though his time with us was far too short, his life was deeply meaningful, and his memory will live on forever. He will be forever loved and missed dearly. A celebration of life will be held very shortly. Details will follow.
