Elizabeth "Betty" Plum

February 6, 1931 — May 17, 2022

Littleton

Elizabeth “Betty” Plum of Littleton Colorado passed away on May 17, 2022 after a brief, but devastating, battle with Shingles. Surrounded by family and lifted by the prayers of loved ones, Betty went home to be with the Lord after 91 “pretty darned good” years. No doubt, she was warmly welcomed by her beloved husband, two cherished sons, family, friends, and even a few good old dogs.

Elizabeth was born in Warwick, North Dakota to Esther and William Dailey on February 6, 1931  - an extra special day because she shared this exact date of birth with her husband. As one of nine children (and the eldest girl), she won the love and admiration of her siblings, as well as the nickname “Bossy Betty.”

Betty graduated high school and college in North Dakota and enjoyed teaching children of all ages in a one-room schoolhouse. On August 13, 1955, Betty Dailey married her hometown sweetheart, John Plum. Their honeymoon was a roadtrip adventure that took them to Denver where they quickly settled in and made friends.

While Betty was the mother of five children, she was “Mom” to so many others. She loved on neighborhood children, daycare kids, foreign exchange students, nieces and nephews and all of her children’s friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially dear to her and she spent countless hours attending sporting events, choir concerts and celebrations, big and small.

Betty is survived by her children, Pam Gargiulo (Tim), Joe Plum, Mary Armstrong (Gary), grandchildren, Jaimee Zarate (Diego), Kaitlin Mehrtens (James), Christopher Armstrong (Autumn), AJ Armstrong (Stevie), Daniel Armstrong (Haley), and great grandchildren, Maddison, John, Alexandria, Ava and Parker. She is preceded in death by her husband John, sons Mike and Jon, her parents, and siblings Larry, Bill, Dan, David, Rita and Jack.

Faith, family and friends anchored Betty’s life, enabling her to endure tremendous loss. She was strong, brave, loving and fun. She is sorely missed and forever loved.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 11th 10:30 am with a reception to follow. Both will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 W.
