IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edna June
Hood
June 7, 1939 – January 26, 2026
Edna June Hood, age 86, passed away with family around her on January 26, 2026, in Northglenn, Colorado.
June was born on June 7, 1939, in Farmington, New Mexico, to Johnny and Maudie (Elliott) Moore. She lived a life rich in love, faith, and connection, and was a generous soul with a steady presence—someone whose kindness made people feel welcome and loved.
June married David Hood and moved to Denver in the mid 1950s. Together, they welcomed two children, Pamala and David. They built a life centered on family and faith within the Seventh-Day Adventist community. June’s faith brought her comfort in her last days.
From a young age, June was given the love of music from her parents and brothers playing old time and gospel songs on the violin, mandolin, and guitar. Her voice was her instrument and she continued that love and sang with the Northland Chorale for 20+ years. She could often be found singing along to a southern gospel song and harmonizing with quartet music, as that was her favorite genre of music. She also enjoyed plays and community arts, attending many concerts and programs in the Denver area. June had the opportunity to travel to Russia, Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, and many other places in the US, but a trip to the mountains in Colorado was what filled her soul. June had a special circle of life-long friends and spent many hours of friendship playing Bridge and Mahjong. When June walked into a room, the atmosphere lit up with her outgoing personality. She also served many loved ones by caring for them in their later years and by helping them with daily life tasks.
She worked 30+ years in a medical office, where her compassion and dedication reflected her caring nature. Above all else, June cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her great-grandchildren brought her so much joy in her later years. She would spend hours watching videos and looking at pictures of her great-grandchildren. She loved them so! Time spent with her immediate family in Denver and extended family in Farmington—laughing, listening to tall tales, and simply being together—was what she valued most.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven of her eight siblings; her daughter Sharon Duvon Hood; and her beloved spouse, Ron Love.
June is survived by her daughter Pamala Suckut (Randi); son David Hood; brother Lonnie Moore (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Lace (Will), Tell (Danielle), Tennille (David), Molly (Carlos), and Sam; 11 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored deeply.
Services will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at: 9911 Huron Street Northglenn, Co. 80260. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your favorite charity.
The family would like to thank Theresa Hood and Terri Adams for their special care for June in her last few years. June’s loving spirit, heart for musical harmony, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
