Dennis Earl Miller
Dennis Earl Miller of Arvada, CO was born on September 4, 1944 in Pueblo, CO to Earl Monroe and Lillian Maurine Eastman Miller. He passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2024 in Wheatridge, CO.
His family moved to Cheraw, CO when he was in the 1st grade, where he lived until graduation from high school in 1963. He attended Pasadena College in Pasadena, CA, graduating in 1967. His family was active in the La Junta Church of the Nazarene where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Bernice Ritchie in 1966. The two spent their first year in Pasadena before returning to Colorado to start their careers and a family. Dennis was a financial representative (CLU, ChFC) for Northwestern Mutual Life for over 50 years. His achievements included a Quarter Century Club member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and a National Quality Award recipient with NAIFA for over 25 years. He enjoyed helping countless people with their insurance and financial needs. It was his privilege and ministry to be there for people during the most difficult times in life.
He was a quiet, thoughtful gentleman; a lifelong active church member serving wherever able to be useful. He was an Adult Sunday School teacher for many years and provided spiritual leadership to Countryside Friends Church in recent years. He loved studying and discussing scripture and was eager to share whatever book he was currently reading. Dennis was a quiet force that weighed his words carefully; a tender-hearted man of God and a prayer warrior.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bernice; son, Brent of Arvada; daughter, Mendy (Jason) Stewart of Olathe, CO; sister, Sharon Holloway of Lakewood, CO; and sisters-in-law, Merlene (Larry) Ellison of Pasadena, CA and Glenda (Rick) Holt of Tomball, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jeremy Stewart.
Memorial services will be held at the Neighborhood Friends Church, 9889 W. 66th Ave, in Arvada on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, La Junta, CO at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dennis’ name to Gideons International or The Denver Rescue Mission would be appreciated.
