Littleton

Christopher Murray, 58, died on Thanksgiving Day, 2022, after a long illness. He was born on June 19, 1964, to Margaret (Dwyer) and Alexander Murray in Barre, Vermont. He lived in Barre for the first 13 years of his life, after which he moved to Galion, Ohio, with his parents, where he graduated from high school. He then relocated to Denver, Colorado, after a long and adventurous motorcycle ride from Ohio. He attended the Denver Automotive Diesel College, graduating in December 1985. Chris loved handling trucks in any capacity and worked for 30 years as a truck mechanic, as well as a driver of cement trucks and 18 wheelers on routes throughout the country. He received safe driving awards while driving the big rigs.

Chris was an engaging, handsome, kind and caring man who was adored by family and friends. He loved the outdoors, especially the western US, and often visited northern New Mexico, where he purchased a second home with family there. In earlier years, he had many friends and interests, including camping, road trips, and 50-mile bicycle trips with friends to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) research. He was devoted to his siblings and to his mother, who predeceased him by four months, as well as to his dogs - especially Aspen, who shared the final years of his life and was with him when he died.

Chris is survived by his siblings: Jan Murray (Jean Kilgore) of Boston, MA; Nancy Murray (Paul Vlahakis) of White Cloud, MI; Alex Murray (Todd Bayer) of Altadena, CA; Vincent Murray (Linda) of Hardwick, VT; and James Murray of Broomfield, CO; his aunts, Catherine Dwyer of Bradenton, FL; Elizabeth Dwyer of Rio Rancho, NM; and Florence Gobeil-Dwyer of Edmonton, Alberta; as well as many extended family members.

A private service will be held at a later time.

Donations in Chris’s memory may be made to Rocky Mountain Conservancy (rmconservancy.org), P O Box 3100, Estes Park, CO 80517; Best Friends Animal Society (bestfriends.org); or to a charity of your choice.
