Cheuk-Woon James Wong

Rev. Cheuk-Woon James Wong, 94, passed away on September 22, 2026, after a brief illness.

Rev. James was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ching Lan Wong-Chiu from Macau, a younger brother and his wife, a younger sister, and his son-in-law, Mark. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Coyne (Mike), Helen Durrance, and his grandson Gregory Durrance. He has many brothers, sisters & nephews in Hong Kong & in the United States.

Rev. James graduated from the Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary in 1977 and began to serve at Diamond Hill Baptist Church soon after. He served as their pastor for 18 years. He then served as the pastor at Tseung-Kwan-O Baptist Church in Hong Kong for the next 10 years. He remained as their consulting pastor for another 5 years before he retired and returned to Diamond Hill Baptist Church and served as their advisory pastor until his move to the United States in 2019.

Rev. James retired from Diamond Hill Baptist Church and Tseung-Kwan-O Baptist Church in Hong Kong, with a career span over 40 years. He was a faithful servant of God.
