Bobby Don Wheeler, 84, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on June 10, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on August 16, 1940, Bobby served his country as an Air Force Policeman in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1965. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to helping others through his work at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home as a funeral director and later in customer service at Lowe’s in Hermitage.

Bobby was a longtime member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures watching sports and cooking were among his favorite pastimes. Known for his kindness and humor, he brought warmth to those around him.

He was deeply proud of his daughter, Lisa Dawn (Ed) Blair, whom he affectionately called “Sweet Pea.” His legacy continues through his grandson Ethan (Megan) Blair and great-grandsons Gibson, Harden, and Boone Blair. He also leaves behind his sister Barbara Eakes; brothers Fred (Becky) Wheeler, Jimmy (Reba) Wheeler, and Mike Wheeler; numerous nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend and cohort William “Tommy” Gilbert.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Richmond and Stella Mai (Fleenor) Wheeler; and sisters Nancy Wheeler, Gayle McLaughlin, Charlotte Bledsoe, and Brenda “Cookie” Wheeler.

In keeping with Bobby’s wishes, no services are planned. Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to donate to local food banks.
