Adam Smith

March 28, 1981 — January 8, 2022

Denver

Adam Michel Smith, age 40, passed over into the Hands of God on Sat., Jan. 8th, 2022 in Denver, CO.

Adam was born on March 28, 1981, in Freeport, IL. to Mark C. Smith of Daphne, Ala. and Debra (Morrow) Wenger of Lostant, IL.

He was a sweet and gentle little boy.  As a young man, he lit up the room, loved laughing and making people laugh.  His energy and enthusiasm caused hearts to smile.  He enjoyed writing and dreamed of, someday, writing movies.  He loved sports and was a die-hard Packers and White Sox fan.  He was a one-of-a-kind person, dearly loved by his family and they supported him, in his struggles, the best they could.

He married Alyson Burkott on June 30th, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, parents, sisters, Nicole (Rick) McDaniel and Ashley (Tony) Gonzales; grandparents, Jane Mellnick, William Morrow Jr., and Eleaner Dailey; one niece, five nephews, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tillman Smith, Shirlene Morrow, Harry Dailey; great-grandparents Ransom and Levon Fehr, William Sr. and Jane Morrow, Lucille Plasch, Clem and Mildred Michel, and father-in-law Joseph T.J. Burkott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022 at 2PM, with special services at 3PM, at Heritage Christian Center 900 Hitt St. Ottawa, IL.  Rev. Jon M. Wenger will be officiating.  A reception will immediately follow and the family would love to have you join them in sharing stories, memories, and laughter as Adam wished that we would remember him.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Donations, in his honor, to help with funeral expenses can be made out to Heritage Christian Center.
